Wilmirigton is planning a big wel
come to the hundreds of KIks who will
pour into that city tomorrow and next
day to attend the annual convention
of the North Carolina Association of
Elks. Yesterday's Wilmington Star
says:
"Wilmington merchants, especially
on Front street, began yesterday to
decorate the fronts of their stores
with bunting and flags for the annu.pl
meeting if the F.Iks of the Stale,
which will be held Thursday and Friday
of this week. Bunting in the colors
of the order, purple and white, is being
used.
I "The visitors will no! only be greeted
XWOCXXXraiX with attractively decorated strtre fronts
in honor of their coming, but the side
walk on the west side of Front street
from the union station to the Elks'
Temple will be in gala attire. It is
proposed to streak the sidewalk with
paint, purple and white.
"Arrangements for the big parade
to be held on Friday morning are prac
tically complete. While the local I
lodge will not compete for a prize with I
the other lodges it will doubtless be
well represented in the parade. The;
