The Legislature which will assemble in January next will in all probability re- district the State, and the condition of the party hpye in this respect; wjlj not be Qhapgod. Atth Rext Pl?ct'ft niW Congressmen are to be elected QlP from each Of the distrtota a now con stituted, and one for the State at large. Now here will be a fine opportunity for the Second District to be represented in the 48th Congress. ' We do not believe that Ave, sffuhl select IJepre.se.ntaiiVeil ui Congress In reference to geographical lines alone. They should be our best men, morally and intellectually, and capable of faith fully serving their constituents Now have we such men in the Second, ftjs: trv, ana jf wy have in all fairness should not tne candidate at large be selected from this District 'I- Who can say that we have not such men in this District? While we would not in any mapnej detra fyom tye mewts of any of the large number of pubho men in the Second Congressional District fully fully competent to ably represent us in Congress, where is there in the State at large any one who would dogQwih more ability au4 dignity than Hon. 0. ti. UJark of 1 mw Heme, or who would give more satisfaction to the party. ' These thoughts have been suggested by the discussion of the question in our papers. Let us nominate for Congress man at large Hon. C. C. Clark of the Second Congressional District, and he will be elected by a large majority.
