GoldsborO, thus de frauding the railroad under the benefits extended to charitable arid religious in stitutions. To such an extent was this being practiced, that a second order was issued to conductors, imperatively in structing them to disregard all tickets not countersigned; in obeying which some innocent parties were required to pay their fare., The mistake was an omission on the part of the railroad in not apprising the Grand Lodge of the requirements of this particular occa- sjon, though the practice of countersign ing one fare return tickets has generally obtained in representative bodies in this I State.
