Judge McKoy, we learn, has granted an order directing Mrs. osephine E. Loftin to produce a certain deed, supposed to be in hei possession, establishing Mrs. A. B. Loftin 's rever sionary estate ih this tract of land. The Superior Court was engaged from last Wednesday ' morning until ' six clock Friday evening in the Henry Kennedy 'murder case. Every inch of ground has been stubbornly fought and contested. Jackson and Loftin and H. F. Grainger conducted the prosecution. and A. J. Loftin and John F. Wooten managed the defence. We did not hear the speeches of either F. B. Loftin or of J. Loftin, but hear tiiem spoken of as being very fine. Wooten displayed the fire, force and brilliancy of his younger days and surpassed the expec tation, of 1 unfriendly criticB, while Grainger evinced great force of charac ter, iron will, extraordinary genius and fine oratorical power. After a tedious charge from the Bench the jury took the case at 6 o'clock, p. m., but at this writing had rendered no verdict. at COMMERCIAL CITY , ITEMS, " j KEW BERNE MARKET. f , Cotton Middling, 9 8-8; strict low middling 0 1-4; low middling 9 1-8.
