The present indebted ness of the city cannot be far from $1U,UUU, as there is no way of ascertaining the exact amount of vouchers outstand ing previous to this year. But your Board has ordered that all vouchers paid , should - be stamped bn the stub : book from which it was issued "Paid" and if these stubs are preserved, by reference, to them in the future the exact amount of outstanding vouch ers unpaid can be ascertained.
