Tbe apparatus lights the entire hon zon, and the focal plane isv43 feet above the ground. . The light should be seen, in clear weather, from the deck of a vessel 15 feet above the sea, 14 nautical miles. The structure is a cast-iron pier, sur mounted by a cast-iron tower and lan tern. The pier and tower are painted rea; lantern, black. The approximate position of the hcht house, as taken from the chart of the U. S.
