Tho warrants were isttucd by W S.
Commissioner, Thos. I. Purnell, of
Raleigh, upon tho stlidavit of one Peter
Fisher, jr., and made returnable hefore
some U. 8. Commissioner in this citv on
Friday, tomorrow, at 12 o clock.
We don't know why Peter Fisher
should go to Raleigh to find a commis
sioner when there are several between
here and Raleigh. But wo withhold
comments for the present. When this
question is sifted to the bottom it will
be found that the real issuo is. has a
negro the right to vote a ticket with the
name of a Democrat on it.
The members of the board arrested
are charged with refusing, with intent
to effect and change the result of the
election of a member of Congress, the
vote of three precincts in the county.
They promptly gave bond for their ap
pearance before the uomraiswioner to
morrow.

Louisville, Nov. 2L Today at Fair-

Davis was present, and there was an
immense crowd, many of whom could
not net into the church and were forced
to leave, aa it was raining hard. After
the sermon. Mr. Davis was invited to the
pulpit, and, bent with age and sup

appropriate remarks, closing as follows:
"No He who rules in heaven bUss

Burned to Death an RuUnt to Life.
I know of a man near Maxey's, Ga.,

For three years, his appearance being
so horribly repulsive, he refosed to let

thought he could possibly recover. At
