Mr. James Sedgely and daughter, Miss Nellie, of Cleveland, Ohio, are visiting the city, stopping with sheriff 8ctmson. Mr. (Sedgely called to see us and stated that he had been on a trip to Florida but was much better pleased with the climate and general appear ance of things here. When asked why the people in his section did not spend the winter here instead' of Florida he responded that they did not know of the advantage of climate, nor did they know that they could find suitable ac commodations. He thinks a record of the temperature, health, etc, of the city for several years back if published would aid much in attracting winter tourists, and we are certain he is right Mr. E. F. Sanderson of Jones county was in the city yesterday and called at tention to the fact that a few days ago there were four ootogenarians in New Berne on one day, three of them being residents of the city, the other Mr. Charles Oerork of Onslow.
