For the first time the far mers of the South- will meet in a convention of their own to discuss the Unsettled problem of Southern agriculture under its new conditions Of tbetea"ottoB States it is cer tain that eight , will be represented by fall and complete delegations. It ia hoped the other States Ala bama and Mississippi will be heard from in due time. The subjects of the discussion at this convention are practical and pressing. They teach the business as well as the science of agricul ture. Commissioner Henderson and his associates have divided the subjects, giving each State its special topic of discussion, and able writers and speakers are now engaged from the Oarolinae to Texas collecting such facts and ar ranging such argument as will be useful and convincing to the far men of the South. We hope for great good from this convention. Politicians Sar to have been excluded from discussion and matters confided mainly to practical bands. There are many things in Southern agri culture yet 1 unsettled. Many ex periments, results of which are not yet ascertained. It will be strange if the ten days' proceedings or tbi convention of five . or six hundred practical farmers does not teach us something we did not know beforet confirm us in right ways and lead ub uaca iioui iuiBuute uu veuiurp. Atlanta will welcome the conven tion and will see that the delegates are made as '-comfortable as pos sible during their stay in the city. Atlanta Constitution.
