Mr. Pearson did not preach on Bun asy morning. ; Berrlces were beld at all the churches by their .pastors. The doors were not opened for the recep tion of members, but at the M. E. Church about forty names, including those who had previously handed in their names, were given the pastor for membership. There were about one hundred conversions during the week. The trains from Goldaboro and More bead City brought in a large number, so that each church had a large congre gation at the morning eer vices. At night, long before the hour of be ginning the services, the Preeoyterun oburch began to be rapidly filled. By o'clock every seat was taken, and many others bad to go to the M. E Church, where Bev. Mr. Crawford ad ministered to the overflow. Bev. H. W. Battle conducted the preliminary services, but just as be had fairly begun Bev. Mr. Pearson arrived. Be ex plained that he was ahead of time be cause be was informed, that the church was parked and some had been waiting for an hour, and as no more could get in he thought it just as well to rome oo and begin the services at once. The subject of the inrmoD was the Uoly (Jboet, from the text to be found in the 20kh verse, 14lh chapter of John. Each of the persons in the God Head had a distinct part to perform in the plan of salvation which is finished. If asked, said the preacher, how I under stand the Trinity, I answer, I don't un derstand it; if asked, how do you in terpret it, 1 answer, I don't interpret tt if then I am asked, what do you do with it, I answer,! believe it. lie knew it was queation about which there was much ignorance, misconoeption, error and controvercy , but he had uoiluug to do vi ith controversy. There was a large crowd at the after meeting, at whioh about twenty-fire made a profession of faith. Monday morning an interesting Bible reading on the forgiveness of enemies was held at 11 o'olock. At nlgbt there was another packed house. The preliminary sorvioes were oonduoted by Bev. Mr. Crawford. The preacher discoursed upon tbe ex cuses that many are making for not becoming Christians. "And they all with one consent began to make ex ouse." The sermon was powerful and convincing. A dozen excuses were taken up, sifted and their fallacies made dear as the noon day sun. A correspondent of the Bt. Paul Pionoei Press gives an account of their condition. He ssys the failure of the crops and the scarcity of game have left the Indians solely dependent on the Indian Department for food. Government supplies have failed to come, and the consequence is most deplorable. All of tbe stock of Qsh they had. frozen in the early part of winter, was spoiled by the mild weather in January. The Chief of the White Fish Lake and other tribes became de monstrative and threatened the Govern ment offioials with retaliation, unless food was given them. Tbe agent at ... - Saddle Lake came down to Edmonton, M, r.fnB.d to and refused to return without food, being afraid for his life. Tbe corres pondent accuses the Indian Department of criminal nsgligence, and says if the Indians sre not looked after, the cod sequenoes may be disastrous. The Charlotte Chronicle says: Tbe interest attending tbe remarkable dis covery of gold, at the furniture factory in this city, as related in yesterday s Cbroniole, continues to increase. The "find" is even richer than was at first apposed. Four additional gold rocks hare been found and carted away to a place of safety. The rocks look like the ordinary black rooks to be seen in the fields around Charlotte, and there is nothing In their outside sppearance to iadioate that they contain gold, but when broken they are seen to be honey oombed, end the little . cells fairly glisten with little crystals of gold of all siaes andC shapes. It is pore virgin gold, and can be separated from the rooks without dimeoltyv The factory grounds are being tamed into a min ing eamp.-' It is really a remarkable find of gold and it is not surprising that it has ereated a sensation. 1 We Tell Tew Pewltrvelr , ' ' that feemmon Liver ' Regulator Iwill rid yon of dyspepsia, parity your system, enable yon to sleep well, prevent mala rial diseanei and give you a brisk and vigorous feeling.
