S. n. Bright,
Secretary,
Aurora Items.
Our farmers Beem to be planting
a larger crop of oats than usual.
Sirs. Margaret Davis and mu has
moved iu ou town, ami still they
come.
The !'ole bat man" is still grunt
ing with toothache, aud opening up
a new stock ot notions.
Mr. Weisger is putting out a lot
of shade trees ou our streets which
will add much to the com fui t and
buauty of Aurora.
Mr. Joseph iStilly has bought the
farm formerly owned by Cup tain
Davis and has moved to it. We
are glad to have Mr. S. iu our
midst.
lr. J. B. Bonner, our banker, is
harving a lot of work done on
"Skill farm'' near here. This is a
pet of Mr.. B. and will be a nice
little farm ere long.
. Pretty, fair, pleasant weather.
Oh how thaukful ought we to be.
The farmers all busy, hands all
employed. The birds are happy,
in fact everything looks bappy but
the poor old hall starved cow and
ths man who wants to And cant pay
his debts,
t bear that Messrs. Felix Cherry
& J. II. Watson have ordered a
saw mill to pat down at our wharf.
We are glad to hear this; we need
more milis to give employment to
hands and utilize -the timber that
is being wasted every year.
We are very anxious about a
daily mail if a man in Texas
does get the contract. To the
rietor belong the spoils, but still I
don't see how a man in Texas can
carry the mail iray less tban our
own people. We used to hear about
"star routes."
Tbe Ej4 IailtetbW of Character.
The eye in farm animals, as well
