JacksosTilla BeceiTe Adrioe. From praotioal experience with yel low ferer tbe city of Nw Orleans is entitled to respeot and consideration ia regard to th suppression of true statements about the epidemio in Jack sonville. We quote from the Times- Democrat: The Jacksonville health authorities new recognise the faot that they made a mistake, tbe other day, is suppressing th names ot those taken siok of the ferer there, aad at onoa abandoned their position, tbe demands of the press. In this day, people want th sews and will not brook, any actios ta. suppress It. Those who try this always eom out the losers by It- The is adisposmoa ea the part of son railroads to try to hush up the sews about a big accident on their line, eut we haw never known ef their Suooeeding is this. All th facts eeme out in the end and the company gets a journalistic overhauling in addi tion. No good will erer come from such a abort-aigbted polloy. If any suppression of news is encouraged, or If oases are sot reported, the result will be to create a lack of eonfldeno is the Jaoksonrille authorities oa ths part of the neighbor ing towns and cities, so that when tbe ferer Is really ended there, they will still decline to beliere its protesta tions. .. ... Jacksonville will do wsll to read orer again the warnings sent it from New Orleans and Memphis. Tell th whole truth, do sot suppress a fact, gire th fnllset news to ths world and invite general confidence, The moment you loss that, you will find rumors floating around ten times as bad aa th troth, and the sows will b still Quarantined when it is wholly tree from the ferer." 'This is equally true About correctly reporting any calamity where the pub lic are entitled to it for their benefit and protection, aad it is ths duty of newspapers to gire the facts. .1 .in 1 1 in r 1 Yellow Fever. The witness thought that eveS if bagging was (admitted free there woe Id beoorners made in it every other year. The only remedy that oms 10 be open to tbe South is to establish bagsiog factoriee in the several States.
