county, now has telegraphic aa well ai
railroad oommunioation with the out
side world, a telegraphia line from
Cameron, a station on the Raleigh and
Augusta Air Line, to Carthage, having
been opened for business yetterday.
The Carthage railroad, from Cameron
to Carthage, waa opened for business
on August 13th last. This road is op
erated as a branch of the Raleigh end
Augusta Air Line, and gives Carthage
direct communication with all points
via tbe great Seaboard Air Line system
of rsilroad and steamer lines. Thus
has the Seaboard Air Line constructed
another branch, thereby adding to the
material interests of North Carolina, as
well as to tbe people along the lino

from Congressman Henderaon Monday

bill 175,000 for the Statesville public

Notice is hereby given that, by an
order of the Board cf Commissioners, -an
additional election precinct has been
established in No. 9 Township, Craven
county, at Arnold Store, to be known
and designated as ' Arnold 's Store Pre
cinct," in said township.
Notice is also given that a new regis
tration of all the voters in No. 9 Town
ship has been ordered by the Board for
tne ensuing general election to be held
in November next (4SSSI. All mi
living in said townliip entitled to reala-
tration must be registered by the Regis
trar of Voters of the respective preoinct
