T, Uibbs made a speech in opposition to Dr. Burton's resolution on pastoral address, lhis was an error, Capt. R. R. Crawford of Winston, a brother of Uev. L. W. Crawford, and a lay delegate, was .the gentleman mis taken for Rev. Mr. Oibbs. Meeting of County Commisaioters. The new board of county commis sioners, viz., Jamee A Bryan, E. W. Smallwood, J. A. Meadows, Daniel Lane and Wm.Cleve, convened at the court house yesterday and the oath of office was administered by E. W. Cir- penter.C. S. C. Jas. A. Bryan was elected chairman. The newly elected county officers were present for the purpose of tender ing their bonds The first offered was that of Robt. Hancock, jr., for Register of Deeds. Qe WM repreeented by Clark & Clark. The county by Simmons & Manly. We have not the name of the sureties on the bond, but after a long discustion by counsel, th board decided that the sureties, several of whom live out of th county, should appear in person and give evidence of their property and liabilities, and to enable Mr. Hancock to secure their attendance he was given until Tuesday of next week.
