After Many Years
We met in the city yeaterday Mr . A.
C. Clark who was born in No. I town
hip, not far from Vanceboro, of this
county and left here fifty-fix years ago
His home ia now at Lafayette in
Walker county. This ia bis first visit
to hia old home, and as he is now sixty
six years old he does not expect to ever
return again, lie leaves this morning,
taking aloog with him a young man
hose name ia Seth Sutton.
Mr. Clark says there has been many
changes since he left here, not only in
this Ticinity but in ths whole oountry.
When he left here fifty-six years ago it
took eight weeks to make the trip to
Walker county, Georgia, now he can
make the trip in two days, yuile a
change in die tan oe at least.

The young Einstonlans who emigrat
ed to Washington Territory a few
weeks ago, have reached their destina
tion, and write back that they are well

church at Wise Fork on Saturday. The

State, have organized "The Farmer's
Co-operative School (Jo. of North Caro
lina, " for which they propose to obtain
a charter from the Legislature author
izing a capital of $150,00 to be raised

Everything connected with the school
buildings, board, tuition, etc., will be
operated on the joint Btock plan. Cer
tificates of stock will be issued to any

payment of the price above mentioned.
