We sincerely hop that the policemen will be supplied with new uniforms. Crope in Lenoir county are more diversified this year than ever before and are as a general thing well ad vanced. Corn is looking especially well. Cotton, too, notwithstanding the recent oold weather, is making good progress. The prospect tor a good yield in wheat was never more eocour aging. Oats are all that could be ex pec ted considering the weather. W. II Worth, one of Lenoir good farmers, has 30 acres of the prettiest cotton in the county.
