Mr. Editor: The Craven County Farmers Alliance met at tbe oourt house in New Berne, on the 5th inst. The sub Alliances were represented by their quota of Delegates, all of whom seemed to take an active interest in every meausure proposed for (he good of tbe order. They endorsed tbe action of the National Alliance in regard to the use of cotton cloth for baleing cotton and most of the ginners of the country have already forwarded their orders for the amount required. The business agenoy expects soon to be in good working condition and when its plans are perfected will doubtless render every aid to the members of tbe order in the way of the purchase of supplies, fertilizers eto. LENOIR COUNTY FARMEH3 ALLIANCE. To our brother farmer t ol Letioir County who are not members of the Farmers Alliance, Greeting: At a meeting of tbe representatives of the Alliance of twelve Southern States at Birminghan, Ala., it was unanimous ly resolved to me bagging made from cotton. The object of this meeting was to thwart the unjust movement of the arrogant Jute Bagging Trust, who have set their heads to extort from the cotton farmers, millions of dollars. In order to help us the New Orleans, New York and Liverpool ootton exchanges have agreed to deduct tare, so as to make cotton equal to jute. The Alliances will stand with the Birmingham meeting and the Trust knows it. Now in order to break us down, it proposes to sell its bagging cheaper than ever hoping that you are under no obligation to use cotton cover.
