Long Wharf now is no more the Long
Wharf of a few yeare ago, or even two
years ago. The improvement made in
that, part of the oity during the past
year or two is an evidenoe of the
progress of New Berne. The large saw
mill of Mr. Moody makes things lively
at Long Wharf now, and the sound of
the boiler maker's hammer in Mr.
Ed wards' shop epeaks for Itself. There
are several cottages going up in the
neighborhood now, and two or three
neat dwelling" houses haye just been!
completed. The fishermen still harbor!
