Recently other fishermen of larger
means have visited toe harbor and put
in mammoth ocean seines from a mile
and a half to two miles long, and were
making quite a sweep. The former
raised objection, but eaoh claimed the
right of way,, which led to the dispute.
Forming themselves into a union of
fishermen of about forty, the natives
proceeded to the grounds while the big
seines were In operation, and com
menced to net fish that had been en-
oirled by the larger haulers. Not liking
suoh proceedings, the big fishermen had
them arrested. The case was taken be
fore three magistrates at Beaufort for a
hearing Thursday. Messrs. Manly &
strengthen and stimulate thosa who
profess to be christians, aud who have
their names enrolled on the church
books, and that be has started influ
ences in that direction that will be per
manent and continue to grow and
spread, no one who has watched the
congregations as well as the preacher,
can for a moment doubt
Mr. Jones wastes no time on theology,
and he has no hair splitting dogmas
and doctrines to confuse the minds of
his hearers, but he plants himself
square on the platform of "Quit your
meanness and serve the Lord," and
from that standpoint he appeals to men
to do right, be honest, be good citizens
and labor for good.

God, her immortal soul will sit on the

of her dear husband and loving chil
dren.
Mrs. Caroline Dudley was a great and
oontinued sufferer for more than three
years, but having faith in God, she bore
her sickness with patience and forti
tude, submitting to the workings of
God without one murmuring word of
complaint; bnt she was constantly heard
praising God for the blessing of Hisholy
and comforting spirit.
