Tho Manufacturers' Record will publish this week letters from bankers in all parts of the South, which tell of tho bright prospects in that section. Tho largest ootton crop ever produced u predicted, and the farmers are less in debt than at any time since the war. In its reviews of the letters received the Manufacturers' Record says: 1 For fivo years the ootton crop rum been steadily increasing, and each year has shown a gain over tho preceding one a record which no other five year poriod can exhibit." In 1886-'87 the cron was 6.505.0C0 bales; in 18S7-'88 it was 7.048,833; in 1888-'69 6,960,000 bales, but the numbor of pounds was greater than in tho pre ceding year. Ja 1889-'90 it was about 7,250,000 bales or ovar, and the indica tions point to at least 7.500,000 to 8,000,000 bales this year. Notwith standing the steady increase in produc tion the price has advanced from year to year on account of the fact that the world's consumption is fast outgrowing the production The total farm value of tho last four crops, includiog cotton seed, was about $1,500,008,000, and this year's crop unless some unforeseen disaster should befall it, will reach nearly 8500,000,000 in value, including tbe value of tbe seed which was a waste product a few year's ago.
