The Wil mington Reviow says that the star gazers are wondering whether it is the long talked of "Star of Bethlehem," which makes its appearance every two three hundred years and shines so brightly as to bo seen at midday, and is expected about this time. Those who have examined the new star through a glaes describe its ap pearance as very singular. The star itself seems made of two ooncentrie rings studded with diamonds, and there are said to be ten paints around the edges. It is worth looking at whether it is the famous star of history or not, and may be seen in greatest brilliancy n the early evening-'' Over the Neusa A representative of tho Journal had a delightful visit on yesterday to the good people of the second precinct Everybody was cordial and numerous invitations to dinner were given. A special to the Times from New Orleans says: It is reported that Miss Winnie Davis' en gagement with Mr. Wilkinson has been seyered, and gossip is busily employed in advancing reasons. The dead bodies of Mary and Eliza MoConigle, aged fourteen and twelve years, were found last night by a searching party who had been looking for them since Tuesday evening. The girls had been outraged and strangled to death. Mar cisse Larooque, who was seen following the girls on their way home from school Tuesday afternoon is under arrest on supicion.
