Lillie Bright and Hetty Bragg alias Oeffroy, affray. They were con Tioted and sentenced to jail for thirty aaya. The next case was warmly contested and consumed the greater part of the day. It was the State ts. policemen Thomas Wilson and J. B. Dixon, oharged with assault and battery on James Johnson, colored. Verdict, Not guilty. It was alleged that in arresting Johnson the policemen struck him with .uon iuuo witQout juaiinoation or excuse, but the testimony showed that he was resisting and about to strike them and that the blows were given in self-defence. Messrs. L. J. Moore. M. W. Stevenson and James W. Waters appeared for the defendants. LOCAL NEWS. ). among benevolent institutions Odd Fellowship deservedly holds high rank.
