Tha commencement exeroiscs of PollooksTOla High' School were held last week and they proTed highly grati fying to tha parents of tha ptpils and other friends of tha school. Wednesday night an entertainment was giren oo'nsisting principally of declamations and dialogues) and Thurs day night there was a musioal entertainment with reoitations inter spersed. A number of the selections of the prerious night were so well ren dered and so pleasing to the audiance that they called for them again.. Both entertainments were excellent and all filled their respective parts well; we hare heard quite complimentary remarks paid to Messrs. John Greer and Thos. Simmons, and Mieses Bettie Pearce, Flossie Hudson, Bessie White and little Annie Sbepard, daughter of J. W. Shepard. Thursday at 11 a, m., Dr. E. W. Ward delivered the annual address and State Senator T. E. Oilman and Representative E. L. Franks, of Onslow county also made remarks appropriate to the occasion. Mr. E. M. Eeonce the principal of the sohool though still a young man has had 13 years experience as teacher. He possesses the confidence of the peo ple and has established an excellent school during tha year there were 80 pupils enrolled. Miss Annie Mills, daughter of J. W. Mills, of Richlands, ene of the smartest young ladies of the county is mueio teacher and also ably assists in other departments of the school. Atlantic & N. C. Railroad.
