The Wilmington Star tells that Kylva- nus Bryan killed an entire flock of 13 mallards, and 2 bull-necks injadditiou at one shot. He continued his bunt until he had bagged 32 ducks. The proprietors of tha New Berne Knitting factory, having satisfied them selves, though oa a limited scale, that it ean be profitably carried on in New Berne under fine condition, think the time has come to invito the co-operation of. such of our citizens as feel an interest in its development and extension, with a view to making it of established benefit to tbe city. The fullest information will be given, and any suggestions bearing on the subject will be appreciated by the gentleman now engaged in the business. The complete memorandum that has been kept of every item of expense con nected with the factory thns far makes the gratifying showing that it has been n at a profit though every operation in the factory was taken as a perfectly green hand and had t) be learned from the beginning. This being tbe case as experience adds skill still better results ay be confidently expected. And another point, the factary is now in such shape that its capacity can be doubled at a very small additional out lay. Tliia of course would considerably reduce the proportion of cost of tbe out put and correspondingly increase the profit. This fact does not need elabora- ng on; the intelligent reader will pcr- cieve it readily. . We have long desired the establish ment of a knitting factory on a fairly large scale, and on a solid basis. The pportunity now presents itself for this desired result to bo attained. We hepe there will be no dilatorincss in tbe matter but our business n.en and capitalists will at once consult with Messrs. Rishton & Woodruff in regsrd to t he matter, seize the golden opportunity and give the city flourishing industry which will prove of eadunng benefit Tie Relief Work.
