From Wilmington we took a tour across South Carolina by the Wilming ton, Columbia and Augusta road. It involved no extra expense and may open a new line of travel to the Fair. Know ing the direction we are to go it is a little confusing it not discouraging when we wish to "go west'' to have our train pull out towards Goldsboro and then tern off and run for four four or five miles in the track of the Carolina Central road. Hut we soon get our course, for the sun which is just rising, shines through the mist behind us, as we spesd on our way. The country is level, the road straight, and the morning air is a little keen, a iu the ice is a halt incii thick in the ditches on either side. FLOnENCE, 8. C. The distance to Florence is one hun dred and ten miles.
