The April term of the United Slates Should Not be a Public Thoroughfare. Editor Journal: No doubt there arc other readers of the Journal besides the writer, who endorse the article in your Sunday's issue, telative to the Episcopal church grounds. It is time some regula tion was adopted restricting the use of the grounds to the members of that con gregation, in going to 'and from worship. The entire community ought to have an interest in the preservation of such beautiful grounds as surround this church, and not to use them as a public tliorougnlaro. Itiere is another practice that ought to cease, and that is many persons on their way from the postoffice, at night thoughtlessly tear the wrappers from newspapers and circulars, and throw them over the fence into the church yard. Why cannot these people be a little more considerate of the rights of others, and ait until they get home to tear off the rappers and burn them I lo beautify and keep these grounds in der requires no little labor and involves xpense, let us hope that attention having been culled to this subject the practice ill be discontinued.
