Those who live at points belaw New Berne who wish to attend tlio Confederate Memorial exercises this year can do so with full assurance that they will have ample time to be present to the end. Heretofore five o'clock has been the usual hour lor holding them, but as it lias been noticed that numbers would fail to enjoy the closing portion on ac count of being apprehensive of bein left by the train it has been decided to begin them at four o'clock a full hour earlier. In addition to this Mr. S. L. Dill, Superintenientof the road, has signified his willingness to wait a reasonable length of time if it is desired that he should do so. This being so we hope for even a larger attendance than usual' And one more point in reterence to these exercises, our country frifiils manifest an interest iu them and nearly always at tend in fair numbers, but the majority of them como simply us spectators while in point of fact they arc as welcome and have as much right to participate in the exercises and to be members of the Me morial Association as any of our New Berne people.
