A Fine Litt e Tog and Passenger Boat New Berne Built Throughout. Tbe new steam tug Gazelle, built and sold by J.H.Crabtree & Co. tofthe Pamlico Towing Company left here Tuesday for her field of operations. She is well fitted up and licensed to carry passengers. Sh will at first be used for saw mill pur poses lint during the summer tbe inten tinn is to use her in taking visitors to and trom Ocracoke. The Gazelle is 70 feet long, 12 feet across the beam with a 4 1-2 feet hold and draws 5 feet of water. Her boiler is a 45 horse power one and she can accom modate 25 passengers. The hull of the Gazelle was built op posite New Berne at Prettyman's mill. Messrs. J. H. Crabtree & Co., took hold at that point and finished her the re mainder of the wood work, the eugine and the boiler all being built and put in portion by them. The Gazelle is ot an artistic model and and is one of the neatest and prettiest lit tle tug boats ever in this harbor and is wellfitted out nicely in every respect. The Gazelle sold for $3,000. Specifi cations for an engine and boiler exactly like the ones the Gazelle has were secured by her present owners from Erie, Pa. and the cost compared with tbe New Berne work and it was found that the charge for tbe northern machinery was was f 400 more right there than Messrs. Crabtree & Co. charged for it put in posi tion in the boat and the putting of it in v ould have cost $250 more, so there was a clean saving of $650 by patronizing a home firm and getting home, work. It only needs ,for the public to fully realize what inducements New Berne can offer to turn largely increased quantities of patronage to her industrial establish ments and business houses. Moore-Peterson. Rev. H. C. Moore, pastor of tbe More- head Jty Baptist church, was married Tuesday, May 2d, at 8:45 p. m. in the Fir it Baptist church of Goldsboro. to Miss Laura Peterson, eldest daughter of Capt. J. E. Peterson, of that city, Rev. J. Hartwell Edwards officiating. The Argus speaks cf the marriage as one of the prettiest ever held there. It says the church, tho largest in the city, was crowded and that the interior was lavishly and most artically decorated for the happy occasion. Five couples acted as bridal attendants and they were followed by four flower girls. After the ceremony a brilliant reception was held at the home of the brides par ents where the bridal party and hosts of friends ossemblcd. Mr. and Mrs. Moore, Mr. W. M. Webb, one of the groomsmen, and Mies Lily Bell, one, of the brides maids passed through last night en route to their homes in Morehead. Boys Farat.
