Yesterday three laities were passing Mr. Ilasiel's store, and one said, '-There is the only pirate in New licrne." Ilackbnrn & Willclt cut 1,000 barrel boxes of cabbages Kriduv. This far they have shipped 11,078 boxes, and expect to ship 14,000 before the season ends. What they had in market yester day sold from $2 to $150. None of their cabbage this ' M ason have brought less than the latter figure. Look out lor tnteves. inrec ol our citizens had their chicken houses raided Wednesday night. At one place the night lovers captured three grown fowls, at another five and at the other six. There was some w atching out for them the next night but they didn't get around Atone time last year nncnk thieving became, frequently and annoying, but the detection and sending to the penitentiary of a few of them caused a slacking up of the evil, but once more those who prefer stealing to labor seem to be getting in the work. One gentleman tells us that a short time back ho discovered one of them attempting to break in his residence and Bred at him as he was running away lie thinks he struck him but did so as to inflict injury enough to lead to his identi fication and arrest.
