X Forward Step at Waters & Sou's Factory. Messrs. G. II. Waters & Son are put ting in steam in their carriage factory and intend to utilize it ns fur as possible ia lhe:r operations. They intend to put in additional ma chinery, making it so that much of their work can be performed in a fourth of the time (or less) thut it could be done by hum!. They also contemplate putting in ma chines for manufacturing the hubs and spokes they use and to supply all local demand. They argue that as there is abundance of the finest wood for such material around us that there is no reason ia fending elsewhere for it. Besides lay 'ike to always have the very best 111 1 i'1'iiil lor all their vehicles and to k :o'.v exactly what they are putting in t'l.'in and this will (nable them to do so. 'i'ney also intend to put in without delay machinery for making ornamental haiise-tinishings ewells, bannisters, etc., and other lathe work. Such enterprise speaks well. The II.111 has the, good wishes of our citizens ia the enlargement of their factory and we doubt not that with the increased ficilities commensurate increase of pa tronage will follow.
