The National Bank publishes its state ment thi; morning. It is a good ono for any time, and considering that the year 1893 bus been one of financial stringency the world over, the showing is splendid. Our other banks have also throughout the entire time held the perfect confi dence of the people, their management of all is in the hands of the men who largely own the stock and it wiso conservative safe and profitable. They offer the easiest and safest method there is ol taking care of one's surplus cash, i I one is so fortunate as to have any surplus. Any one wishing to make announce ments through the Joubnal for either Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday should hand them in early to-day. As has been our usual custom, we will give two holidays Monday and Tuesday.
