Josfah Mar tin, from, his safe retreat on board the man-of-war "Cruijer," in the Cape Fear River, fulminated his wrathlnl proclama tion of August 8th, 1775, in which he for- Dade the assembling ot tbe Congress, and denounced it as "one of the black artifices of falsehood and sedition."
