Stole Two Watches.
Fumoy Sparrow, a white man about
twenty-five years of age, stole a couple of
watches from the store of Bender Bros ,
Polloksville, Tuesday, while those in the
utore w&ic engaged with customers. It
was found out that he had the watches

Berne jeweller, which was proven to be
false.
A trial was held and Sparrqw's bond
was fixed at $250. While he was pre
sumably trying to make up the bond bo
broke from the otticer and escaped, and
he has not bean heard from since.

McRae's Trial.
John McRae, the colored man who
made such a display of hi j lighting quali
ties at llellair recently, was tried before
S. R. Street, Cyrsle.nhiy n two
charges ot carrying concealed weapons,

ly weapons. W. J. McSorley and W. T.
McCarthy were the prosecuting attorneys.

The bridge at Vanc.cboro is still in a
precarious condition, but efforts are slill
being made to prevent 'its washing away.
