Cooke, of Franklin county, ex-bpeaker ol the House, was unanimously nominated hy acclamation, all other candidates having withdrawn be fore the convention met. This district has been represented lor the past six years by Hon. 1IH Uunn. A telegram from Mr. Bunn was read before the convention, pledging his warm sup port to the new nominee.
