Wliile no extraordinary individ ual bags of game were reported hereabouts by the state’s game protectors, they said that the open ing day seemed “ideal” from the standpoint of hunting conditions. A number of local sportsmen- par ticipated in the one-week special deer hunt that ended at Butner on Saturday. Nabbed in BridgepoiT, Connecti cut last Tuesday afternoon, Curtis Oldham, fugitive from police hero, readily confessed that he’d cashed worthless checks totalling over $100.
