William Brown of West Helena, Arkansas, has been announced by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Henry Bailey of Charles ton, South Carolina. Mr. Brown is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Edward Brown of West Helena. The wedding is planned for December 27 at 5 p.m. in the Chapel Hill Presbyterian Church. Jones-Seaweil Vows Heard In Franklin Miss Elizabeth Harriette Jones, daughter ol Mr. and Mrs. Weimar I Jones of Franklin, was married to ■ Sam G. Seawell of Winston-Salem I on November 16 in a private cere mony performed in St. John’s Episcopal church in Franklin. Both theT)ride and her parents former ly lived in Chapel Hill. Mr. and Mrs. Seawell are living in Winston-Salem where the bride is employed with the Forsyth County Program on Alcoholism and Mr. Seawell is business manager of Graylyn Hospital. Catholic Guild Planning Party This Sunday The Catholic Women’s Guild of Chapel Hill met Tuesday evening in the Parish Rectory on Gimghoul Road to make final preparations for Empty Stocking families adopt ed by the Guild; The Guild has changed its Moth er and Daughter Corporate Com munion Sunday to the 8 o’clock Mass on the Sunday after the first Tuesday of the month, or the Sun day immediate following the monthly Guild meeting. Mrs. Doris Goodson, chairman of the children’s Christmas party, urged all members to be generous with their donations of cookies for this gala event, to be held Sunday afternoon from 4 till 6 p.m. in the Rendezvous Room of Graham Memorial. Santa Claus will be a special feature of the afternoon, with gifts for all. Each boy who attends the party is asked to bring a toy marked “boy and the girls will each bring a toy marked “girl”. All children of the parish are invited to attend. Hostesses for the evening enter tained the group after the meet ing with a very handsome buffet table' set with silver service of tea and coffee, silver trays of beauti- iful Christmas cookies and candies, and assorted nuts. Pine sprays with red candles and silver ornaments bedecked a lovely Madonna and Child statuette. Mrs. H. Monroe, Mrs. H. Gierasimowicz and Mrs. D. Clintock were the co-hostesses for this evening. Bad Weather School Closing Procedure Set Chapel Hill Superintendent of Schools C. W. Davis has released the following announcement con cerning possible school closings this winter because of bad weath er emergencies: “Should it become necessary to close school due to severe weather, snow, hazardous roads, etc., during the winter, an an nouncement will be made before 7:30 a.m. over radio stations WPTF, Raleigh; WDNC, Durham; and WCHL, Chapel Hill. “We should appreciate it, there fore, if the school personnel, bus drivers, and parents will keep a radio tuned to one of the above listed stations when such an an nouncement may be expected. “In case there is no announce ment by 7:30 a.m., you may ex pect schools to operate as usual.” HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
