The empty tanker was coming tow ard Monroe, wltneses told Corp. J. B. Boyd who Investigated, and the wagon was also coming toward Monroe. A truck' was meeting ' the wagon and when the driver of the tanker put on his brakes, the trailer Jack-knifed and struck a pole beside the road. It then flew into the air, passed over the cab oY the approaching truck which had stopped at the edge of the highway, and landed on the wagon. The Impact threw Mr. Benton Into a field and the colored man and the two mules were caught under the tanker and had to be cut loose. The truck wag not touched, the tanker going at least ten tet to the air. Another serious accident took place about 10 o'clock 'Monday morning wher Mrs. Frank Coulck was struck by a truck Just after she stepped off a dus near Jackson school. She was badly broken up and Is to a serious condition to a Charlotte hospital. The driver of the truck.
