Marriage of Miss Rebeooa John son to Mr. William Shoifbrd. The sacred rites of matrimony were performed at St Agnes' Catholic Church in this city this morning at 9: 30 o'clock. The contracting parties were Mr. William II. Shepard, of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Miss Rebecca S. Johnston of this city. The ceremo ny was performed by Bishop Leo Haid.0. S. B., after which nuptial mass was said. This is the first mar riage that has occurred in the catholic churchin this city and it was the first timejthat many of our people here ever witnessed the beautiful marriage ser vice of that denomination. When the bridal party reached the church the Woodroffe-Aldennari Or chestra played Mendelssohn's beauti- ful Wedding March, and the bride and groom entered the church, preceded by the ushers, Messrs. E. W. Tate' and R. S. Mebane, John S. Michaux and Jos. G. Farris.
