Mr. Editor: We notice i that circulars are out announcing; & grand. rally on educational interesfe tHe last week of this months: This s' a .gpp.d move, k or - rather it is rer yiving a grand, ifcoye that was set in opperation a few vears aero. " That move was styled ' an -Educatibhl Mass ;Meetirig, and- was' "said to be the first to take place in the State;; thus giving Polk county the honor of' leading all the other counties of the State, at least, in this particur ar. We heartily concur in the statement made by , Mr. - McDowell n his recent article to The News, n which he said that the "J ohn the Baptist of this grand educatibhai rally was W. 'A. Cannon, of Lynn. It was due to his thoiisrhtful inter- est in - the general good of the county that such an educational rally was originated. It is also to be. regretted that these ; meetings were not continued from year to year until now, without' any inter mission, but as some one has aptly remarked, " great thou ghts never die, so with the educational mass meeting organized byjMr. Cannon. It will now put on new life, after a long winter of cessation and again nourish, bringmfi forth fruit in season.
