week from N. M. Ponder, now liv
ing in Toston, Montana. He says he
likes the Montana valleys, but
never forgets-his native heath and

Mrs. French has received a letter
from Mrs. F. A. Chevalier, of Berea,
Ohio, saying that they are tninking
of retiming to Columbus. Mr.
and Mrs. Chevalier are pleasantly
remembered here and we hope they
will return.

extended trip to South Carolina

Louisville, Ky., his former home,

Little Marguerite Smith, aged
seven years, oldest daughter of
Mrs. Daisy Smith, died Suuday and
was buried Monday afternoon.
The hotel company has not as
yet decided upon' a site for the pro
posed hotel, though several loca
tions are under consideration.
Mr. Brown, of Landfum, was in
Trvon this week with the object of
renting a store for the sale of
groceries.

The young people expect to hold
a debate in the chapel Saturday
evening. Weare unable to give the
question to be debated, however.
At a special meeting held last
Friday evening, new officers were
elected for the Lynn Christian En
deavor societv.
A large congregation greeted
Rev. T. B. Justice at the meeting
last Sunday. All regret his intend
ed departure very much indeed.
The numbers are increasing in
the advanced classes 1 at the Lynn
school and there is a good attend
ance in the kindergarten. V

full attendance this term .and Miss
Fidelia Sheldon, the principal, is

Mrs. Wm. Shields died Thursday,
November 6, at her home near Col

who live near Collinsville.

Claudius, the infant son of J. R.
Blanton, of Dimsdale, died last
Thursday of croup. Mr. Blanton
is surveying hear the Howard Gap
