V Considerable cotton is being hauled to the ins but hot much of it was sold the past week, owing to the decrease in price. , The majority of the Polk county farmers are, hold ing fur higher prices. Requests Citizens of Polk County to Investi gate any Charges Republicans Bring Against him before believing Them, Mr. Editor: Please allow me space in your paper to say to the people of Polk county that the Republicans say that they have something to tell on me two or three days be. fore the election that will beat me. Now .fellow citizens, my official record is a public record for everyone that wishes to examine. I am not ashamed of it and from what good Republicans and Democrats both have said to me I am obliged to be proud of my official record. If it it not good I have been flattered by both patties. , Now as to my private record or reputation a a citizen, I have done nothing for a number of years that l am ashamed of. or will deny. 1 have for a number of years tried to trea everyoue as t would have them treat me and I want you to investigate this story when you; get it before you .believe . it. - : I deny any charge that is detrimental to my official or private record.
