C. E. Page is rusticating with his
old war comrades this week
on the Sea Board. He left on
Sunday for Ealeigh where h e
expects to meet a company of old

and go to Wilmington, from there
to Fort Fisher. This will be a

Her school mates here will be
pleased to hear from Miss Lillian
Campbell who was once a student
of the Central Industrial Insti
tute. She is doing fine work
both in her literary studies and as
a worker in Sabbaths chool, hav
ing recently received a handsome
prize for bringing the largest
number of children into Sunday
school where she attends. This
is good news from Lillian.

ton. They will probably move
to that place permanently in the
future, as most of family is al
ready located there.
The home of Mr. J. T. Splawn
was made sad by the death of his
daughter, Miss Bertha last week.
She had been ill for several
weeks. The burial servic es
were held at Sandy Springs
church, conducted by Rev. R. J.
Tate.
Mr. Charles, who now ownes
and occupy's the Huston house,
two miles from town, is putting
in a pipe line to convey water
from a mountain Spring to his
house and when completed, will
be quite a convenience for the
water snpply to every room of
his dwelling. The line will b e
about 1200 feet long, of U inch
piping and will be an inprore-
j ment in some respects to the one
1 which was put there by Mr.
. Houston when the house was
