The Good Poad Meeting, held in the court house, was a success, though the attendance was rath er smell. The instructors, Dr. Pratt and Engineer Spoon, ef the North Carolina CeoloffiVal Society, delivered interesting aud edifying addresses on the subject ef Goed Roads- A number of photographs were passed through the audience, showing the different roads in the state, before and after they had adopted the Good Read System. Dr. Pratt made an interesting talk on the Bond Issue for good reads. He said that he consid ered this the best method of building roads, from the fact that the taxes wer so very small the poerest man could hard ly feel the expense. The tax could easily be paid the sav ing in vehicles, to say nothing of the increased loads in hauling and the easiness in getting to market. The News regrets exceedingly that more farmers were not out to hear this issue discussed, but we feel that the small crowd was not from any lack of enthLT on the part ef the farmers, but that it was fodder pulling time and they could not leave their crops.
