Our little pet has fallen asleep
this week andpoor thing! -r-has
not grown a .;bit. There are so
many other little pets and darl
ings all clam6ring for attention
and making demands upon- our
purses just now for tin horns,
drums, etc., that we can't bother
with this little one who cries for
a shovel and scraper to flatten
out a few hills. But never mind,
hun. Christmas holidays only last
a week, and thn we'll all see
that you have all the shovels and
scoops and teams you want to
play With, and we'll all help you
to level those hills-see if ;We
won't! -

Here's to old Columbus,
In the County of Iolk;
It'o a little town, I know,
But filled with jolly folk.
You can'-t find the world o'er
A better set of men,
So let's drink to Columbus
Then fill 'em up again.
This time for the ladies,
So good and so true
To husbands and sweethearts.
And to their homes, too;
There'skno fairer vision ,
Than the winsome maid
Of dear old Columbus ,
Naught more need be said.
It is a Sjprry town indeed that
