Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hart have
: moved back to their farm In Blue
Ridge township, Henderson Co.
Mr. Hart regrets the departure,
saying he never met with kinder
people.
The sportsmen of the town are
letting no valuable daylight go to
waste these.days but. are putting
aside all trivia! matters and hie

success. f .
Rev. D. J. Hunt' of Union Mills
? filled the pulpit atthe Saturday
and Sunday services of Columbus
Baptist Church and delivered tbo
closing sermons of a series on
'-Life." His talks were very in
teresting and instructive.
Ve'llail be glad to see " the
man from the West," Mr. A. L.

about the 1st of January, and
listen to his wonderful tales of
adventure in a year's life in ihe

United States.
Supt. J. R. Foster was in Col
umbus Monday and made us quite
a long and pleasant visit. Mr.
Foster attended the meeting held
recently in Raleigh of the County
Superintendents Association, at
which ninety-five of the hundred
numbers were present. A good
example to the teachers, isn't it?

Judge , Thomas H. Sutton of
Fayetteville, N. C, was in our
town last week, looking around
with the view - of locating 1 either
here or at Tryon for the practice
of law. The legal field in Polk
County is not overcrowded and
there is ample room for a few
more attorneys, so we hope to see
Mr. Sutton hang up his hat and
his shingle with us and fetch out
his budget of experiences in the
idle hours.
