Draughon, that he has been transferr ed to Army Air Field at Fort Myers, Fla. He recently graduated at Tech. S. S., Lowry Field, Denver, Colorado. Mrs. Brantley from Spring Hope, Bpent last week with her father, A. B. Atkinson. James Earl Etheridge of New Or leans, La., is home for a while before returning to the Dental School to get his diploma. Mrs. Effie Watson has returned from an extended visit with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Lemuel Watson, in Portsmouth, Va. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Owens and children of Fayetteville, spent the week end here with Mr. and Mrs. D. T. Watson. Mr. and Mrs. Luby Hill and chil dren of Hookerton, spent the week end with Miss Elizabeth Hill. '..Mrs. Elise Darden returned from Middleton, Pa., Sunday. Miss Elizabeth Hill has returned from the Wilson Hospital. Mr3. J. H. Barnes and Mrs. John Broughton spent the week end in Washington City. Mrs. L. E; Hooks of Albemarle, is spending some time with friends here. Mrs. Lula Little of Greenville, is spending this week with her daugh ter, Mrs. R. S. Atkinson. Cpl. John Broughton of Camp Da vis, spent the week end here with his mother, Mrs. Eva Broughton. Lt. Arthur Wilkins of Camp Davis, spent the week end here with friends. Friends regret to learn that Eddie Pittman had a stroke last week. He is better at this writing. Mrs. Eva C.1 Etheridge is a patient in Duke Hospital, Durham. Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Draughon of Durham, spent Wednesday with Mrs. Mabelle E. Draughon. The following students left'Monday for E.CT.C, Greenville: Misses Annie Gilmer Edgerton, Elgia Scott, Vivian Bass, Marie Darden. Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Edgerton, Mrs. Mabelle E. Draughon and daughter, Miss Geraldine Draughon, and Mr. and Mrs. D. W. Rose and daughter, Nancy, of Lucama, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. S. T. Edgerton, near Princeton. Mrs. Linda Alford and daughter, Miss Edna Walston, are spending this week in Elm City with Mrs. Lilla Dixon. Mr. and Mrs. Lester Hales and family moved into the Baptist Par sonage on last Thursday. Mrs. Verna Sawyer of Smithfield, was the dinner guest of Mrs. Mabelle E. Draughon on Sunday night. K James Lonnie Jones Died September 15th church at 3 o'clock Friday afternoon, conducted by the Rev, Walter Wil liams. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Surviving are his wife; five chil dren, Joseph Elmer and Raymond H. Jones of Fort Beivoir, Va., Gurney and Belvie Jones of Wilson, and Vir ginia Jones of the home; one brother, George Jones of Wayne county; two sisters, Mrs. Addie Renfrow of Kenly Route 2, and Mrs. W. R. Gooch of Durham. , K Birth Announcement Mr. and Mrs. Percy Price of Wil mington, announce the birth of a daughter, on Saturday, September 18, at the Woodard Clinic in Kenly. Mrs. Price was formerly Miss Elsie Dur ham of Kenly, Route 2. K Woman's Auxiliary Met Monday Night The Woman's Auxiliary of the Presbyterian church met Monday night at the church, with the presi dent, Mrs. Clarke, presiding. Rev. G. B. Starling made a talk on "The Christian Home." Birth Announcement Mr. and Mrs. A. R.' Munns of Hen derson, announce the birth of a son, Rodgers Herbert, on September 13. Mrs. Munns was formerly Miss Cleo Casper of Kenly. Micro News Miss Hazel Creech has returned to Washington, D. C, after spending a few days with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Creech. Lt. and Mrs. L. H. Hollingsworth, Mrs. M. Green and son of Wake For est, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. S. C. Batten Thursday; Mr. and Mrs. Gurney Pittman spent Sunday in Kenly with Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Pittman and family. Miss Bruce Hester of near 'Green ville, is spending the winter with her uncle and family, Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Worthington, and attending the 12th grade in the Micro school. Miss Margaret Collier of Raleigh, Mrs. Henry Mozingo, Jr., of Burling ton, were euests of their parents, Mr, and Mrs. B. R. Collier, during the past week end. Mrs. L. M. Ausley and daughter, Mrs. Walter Burns, spent the week and at Cherry Point, with Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Ausley and family. Mesdames J. V. Chamblee of Sel ma, S. L. Barbour and Carl K. Par rish of Wilson's Mills, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. L. C Davis Sunday af ternoon. Carl Creech of Smithfield, visited his mother, Mrs. Sudie Creech, last Thursday. Dr. and Mrs. B. L. Aycock of Princeton, visited their mother, Mrs. Jane Aycock, Sunday. Mrs. R. C. Pearce was called to Mount Olive Wednesday night on ac count of the serious illness and death of her mother, Mrs. W. A. Jones. Miss Doris Fay Hinnant left Sun day night for Fredericksburg, Va., where she will resume her studies at Mary Washington College. Misses Bonnie Davis, Estelle and Elizabeth and Nancy Batten, Mildred Wellons, Marjorie Fitzgerald, and Ruth Boykin left Monday for E.CT.C. to resume their studies.
