Scout Master, gave a program by demonstrating "How to Tie Knots", for the boys. The president gave a program on "Beffer GroomWg" '?r the girls During the social hour, Katheryn and Charles Costin served refresh ments of ice cream and candy to the It member's, I leaders, and T visitor present. The next meeting wiH be held at the club house March 15th. Susan Todd Celebrates Birthday Miss Susan Todd celebrated her third birthday last Tuesday after noon with a party given by her par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Todd at their home near Warsaw. The Val entine motif was used in deoorating the living room of the Todd home for the occasion. Susan's birthday cake was baked hi the shape of a heart with three miniature cowgirl candles decorating the top. Those attending were Becky Todd, Anita Williams. Soya Powell, Su dan's grandmother, Mrs. D. E. rodd, Mrs. Marvin Houston and Mrs. Claude Powell. Mrs. Toitans, Baltic Club Hostess Mrs. Bruce Torrans was hostess to the Baltic Bridge Club Tuesday evening at her home. During mid point af play, the hostess served Cokes, cookies, party sandwiches, and potato chips. Those making up the two tables, for bridge were Mrs. James Sutton, Mrs. Winnie Davis. Mrs. Seth Hill. Mrs. Bob Blanchard, Mrs. Wood row Smith, Mrs. Mattie Torrans, Mrs. Clinton Rouse and Mrs. Helen Smith. When the scores were compiled Mrs. Helen Smith received a milk ;lass teapot for high scorer, Mrs. fw. * ? , " - - At Whatey's Rest Home in Kenansville, a Gala Day was observed last Tuesday, wj?n the %auty operators of Duplin County in obser vance of National Hairdressers Week, visited the home. The men were all "spruced up" with new haircuts and shampoos and the ladies received shampoos, permanents and hair sets. Some of the bed-ridden patients were given dry shampoos. In this scene are some of the ladies iii the process of getting their hair dried. On the back row are some of the "finished' hairdos". Beech Phillips, 88, retired farmer and formerly of Lenoir County, died at the home of his son, Roger V. Phillips, on Ken ansville, Rt. 1, Thursday. He was a member of Airy Grove Christian Church. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p. m. Friday at Garners Chapel in Kinston by the Rev. J. Pegg, Methodist minister of KenansviHe. Burial was in the Sam Jones Ceme tery near Sharon Church.
