The wedding took place in the First Christian Church of Meadville, Pennsylvaina on March 2 at 1:30 in the afternoon. Rev. E. L. Russell was officiating minister at the double ring cere mony. Mrs. Gloria Patrick was the Mat ron of Honor and Charlene Hancuff, sister of the bride, was bridesmaid. They were both from Meadville, Pennsylvania. Best man was Edward Hancuff, brother of the bride, of Elizabeth City, N. I The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore bouquet taffeta and chantilly lace. The long sleevese were lace ad appliquie of lace formed the jewelled sabrina neck line on the basque bodice. The gown was floor length and had con trolled front with bustle back con inuing into a chapel train. A tiara of pearls secured finger-tip tiers of illusion veiling. She carried a lace covered Bible topped with, white carnations, centered with a large ?'ink throated orchid, and streamer ed with white satin ribbon tied with buds. The matron of honor wore mint chiffon, semi-bouffant. Her short sleeved gown had high neckline and panels of chiffon tied at the shosulder line in the back. She wore a bandeau of mulitple bows with small moline veil on her head in matching green, and matching accessories with short white glomes. \ She carried a bouquet of mint green carnations with touches of yellow. The bridesmaid wore yellow chif fon in exact matching design as the matrnn-of-honor, with matching ban deau and carried yellow carnations touched with white and green. A beige ensemble with beige ac cessories with a corsage of pink carnations and white mums was the outfit chosen by the bride's Mo ther. The mother of the groom was attired in a Colonial blue ensem ble with a corsage of white carna tions. RECEPTION . t. Presbyterian Circles Mrs. Edna Hodges was hostess to Circle No. 1 of the Women of Grove Presbyterian Church on Mon day afternoon at three thirty with 10 members present. Mrs. Lloyd Ferrell, Circle chairman, presided over the business s-<s;on. The Bible Study was moderated by Mrs. Mflry C. Southerland. Others taking part on the program were Mesdames Ivey Bowden. T. P. Quinn and N B. Boney. Jonquils and flowering Quince further enhanced the living room. Those playing were Mrs. Thelma Taylor, Mrs. J. J. Wells, Mrs. E. C. Tyndall, Mrs. Bill Spicer, Mrs. Ha zel Scott and visitors were Miss Mary Lee Sykes, Mrs. D. S. Wil liamson and Mrs. G. R. Dail. William son was given glove dryers for visi tors high. Lora Stokes Lirde The Cora Stokes Circle met with Mrs. George Penney on Monday afternoon. In the absence of the cir cle chairman, Mrs. Penney presid ed over the business session. Mrs. I. C. Burch presented the program on "Spirtual Life Develop ment". Mrs. Maready's Funeral Thursday Mrs. Rhoda Lanier Maready, 89. if 1U. t. Chinquapin died Tuesday night in Duplin General Hospital. She was a native of Duplin County and a lifelong resident of the Chin quapin Community and a member of the Salem Presbyterian Church. Funeral services were held last Thursday at 3:00 p. m. in the home of her son, Elmo Maready, of Rt. 1, Chinquapin by the Rev. Ira Kawls assited by the Rev. James Sell. Interment was in the family cemetery. Surving are two daughters, Mrs. Archie Rrown of Warsaw and Mrs. Jack Lanier of Chinquapin, three sons, Grover Woodrow and Elmo Maready of Chinquapin, 20 grand children and 17 great grand child ren. Ella Cooper Circle The Ella Cooper Circle met on Monday evening with Mrs. Adelle Kornegay at her home on Kinston Road. Mrs. Amos Brinson, chair man presided.
