Turner, Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Audrey Joyner, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Joyner and daughters, Uieryl and Mephanie attended a family reunion and birthday dinner of Mr. W. A. Ketchum at Hugh Mc Rrea Park in Wilmington on Sun day. Mr. Ketchum is Mrs. Audrey Joyner's uncle. Vacation Bible School Vacation Bible school was held each night last week at the Mag nolia Methodist Church. On Friday night a fellowship supper was held in the Education Building. Win In Dress Revue Hary Alice Thomas won first place in the Senior Division of the 4-H Dress Revue, held in Kenans ville Friday night. Betty Lou Wha ley won second place in the apron division. They will represent the county at district day at Hobbton School where seventeen counties will participate. Baptist Bible School Vacation Bible School was held last week. Monday through Friday at the Magonlia Baptist Church. Mrs. Carlton Smith was principal. On Friday evening there was a picnic supper and commencement exercises. One of the loveliest parties of the season was givon Sunday after noon, May 26, from three till five o'clock where the ehlMren of Mr. and Mrs. Lacy 8. Quinn entertain ed for their Golden Wedding An niversary. The eht'-re house Was decorated with greet try, burning, tapers and mixed spring flowers of lovely pink snapdragons, pink carnations white pom-poms and baby's breath. . Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Stroud greeted guests at the door and introduced them to the receiving line composed of Mr. and Mrs. Quinn, Mrs. Dor othy Mae Parker, Mrs, Pauline Brooks, Mr. and Mrs. Berti Quinn and Mr. and Mrs. R. P. Wood. The register was presided over by Mr. and Mr.s John Vernon Evans and guests were invited into the gift room by Mr. and Mrs. Vic tor Parker, grandchildren of Mr. and Mrs. Quinn. A beautiful three tiered wedding cake decorated in gold and white was served from one en of a table covered with pink and gold net over laid with lace Golden fruit punch was served from one end of a table the table. The table was centered with burning tapers. Misses Sandra Quinn, Linda Brooks, Donna Kay Wood, Ann Brooks and Mrs. Gail Knowles, granddaughters, served. Good bye's were said by two grandsons, Linwood Brooks and R. P. Wood Jr. Approximately one hundred and forty friends called during the afternoon. Soft music suitable for the occa sion was played by Frances Stroud throughout the party. Mrs. Quinn wore a black dress and a corsage of white roses with gold trimming. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Wallace visited with Mrs. Wallace's parents Mr. and Mrs. Frank Somers of memorial Hospital. The Daily Vacation Bible School of Woodland Methodist Church came to a close Friday. A picnic lunch spread followed the close of the school. Parents of the children attended the dinner. Mr. Dewey Westbrook visited his son, Milton Westbrook, in the Wake Memqrial Hospital Thursday.
