The Rides which were set up on a vacant lot near the V. F W. Hut, left at the weekend for Kin ston. The Jaycees report that all posts have been installed at the street corners, in Pink Hill and that the signs have been shipped from Birm ingham, Ala. The next project will be the installation of house numbers in the town. The organization is making plans to sponsor a booth at the Duplin County Fair, at Beula ville in September. 40 & 8 Observe Ladies Night Ladies night was observed by members of the Albertson 40 and 8 at a meeting held at the American Legion Hut at Maxwell's Mill on Wednesday night of the past week. A ham supper with all the trim mings was served to the approxi mately 100 folks who attended, in cluding guests from Kinston, New Bern and other surrounding towns. DEATHS WILLIAM D. HOUSTON William Dolphes Houston, 46, of Rt. 1, Magnolia, died Monday morn ing. A native of Duplin County, he was a farmer. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at 2 p. m. at the Nor man Memorial Chapel. Interment was in the Devotional Gardens near Warsaw.
